What is Web Site ?
Web Site - A website or Web site (often shortened to a site) is a collection of web pages, that is, documents accessible via the World Wide Web on the Internet. The pages of a website will be accessed from a common root URL, the homepage, and usually reside on the same physical server. What is a domain name?
Domain names are the familiar, easy to remember names for computers on the Internet (such as internic.net). They correspond to a series of numbers (called Internet Protocol numbers) that serve as routing addresses on the Internet. Domain names are used generally as a convenient way of locating information and reaching others on the Internet.
I have a server in the office. Can't I use that?
Technically yes, you can. But the extra costs to make it suitable for use as an internet server would be prohibitive. You would need to purchase a leased line to give a permanent internet connection. Even this would not be as good as the high-capacity lines that internet servers use. Internet servers are located very close to the backbone of the internet, which translates into fast downloading of your website by your customers.
You would need to purchase web server software to allow the contents of the server to be seen by others on the internet.
The security implications of using your own server also need to be considered. You would need to protect it with Firewalls to prevent unwanted access by undesired visitors.
Finally you would have no redundancy with your own server, which means that in the event of anything going wrong with it, your web site and email become unusable. Usual hosting servers have multiple redundancy, guaranteeing up to 99.9% uptime.
How can I pay for web hosting?
This depends on which host you decide to go with. Most web hosts will accept credit cards, and some will accept PayPal and/or a Money Order / Check.
How do I know which web hosting package better suits my needs?
Which web hosting package you purchase depends entirely on the planned use of your web site. For example, the performance and reliability requirements for a large scale business application are much greater than those needed for a small personal web site.
Different web sites also require differing amounts of bandwidth each month. To try and make it simple … the bigger your web site, and the more reliable you need your server to be, the bigger the package you have to buy.
What is FTP?
The File Transfer Protocol is an application program which allows you to move files between computers connected to the Internet independent of machine type or operating systems. For example, uploading your WebPages to our server.

POP is useful for computers, e.g. mobile or home computers, without a permanent network connection which therefore require a "post office" (the POP server) to hold their mail until they can retrieve it. Basically, they are e-mail accounts on your hosting server.
What is a Database?
A database is a collection of data that is organized so that its contents can easily be accessed, managed and updated. The most command type of database is the relational database, a tabular database in which data is defined so that it can be reorganized and accessed in a number of different ways.

This is a main VPN distinction from anonymous proxy for which it's necessary that software maintain hook up through proxy.
How do I upload my site online?
Uploading your site can be done in many ways, but the most popular is FTP. When your hosting account was created, you should have been provided with an FTP account. Using software such as CuteFTP or FTP Commander, you can log into your host. Then, using the program like a normal windows program, you can drag and drop files onto your web host. These files become live online instantaneously. There are other ways to upload your site such as using SSH or uploading files through your browser.
